While living for about 10 years in Asia, the only advertisements seen on television more often then Suntory Single Malt Whisky were for breast enlargement pills, creams, machines, augmentation procedures and ultra padded silicone-filled microfiber and underwire push-up bras. This was not surprising since the average Asian lady’s bra size is closer to minuscule than merely small, and therefore many ladies are obsessed with obtaining larger breasts any way possible. In places like Taiwan, where the economic conditions allow women to indulge in cosmetic surgery, body enhancing procedures and breast developing products more than most, the market was so flooded with natural breast enhancement supplements that (aside from hundreds of internet sites) local supermarkets, drugstores and corner stores carried pills / creams as part of their regular inventory.

Since I wasn’t a naturally well-endowed woman in the breast department, I became curious about breast enlargement pills and decided to order a few bottles. Why? In part because I often went to traditional Chinese herbal doctors and found that natural remedies worked much better than what western physicians prescribed for ailments, and therefore since the majority of ingredients listed in the natural breast enhancement formulas were herbs I had already taken for certain female problems and knew were safe, I thought that perhaps the concentrated formulations with large doses of natural plant estrogen (also called phytoestrogens) might stimulate growth in the breast tissue or at least create a bit of plumpness that would be very welcome. Being in my mid thirties, I was an ideal candidate and, when my breast enlargement pills arrived, I took them faithfully for about 6 months. What happened? Let me explain:

While I took the pills, I also I followed a very healthy lifestyle, including swimming several times a week, eating primarily organic vegetables, grains and fresh fruit as well as complex proteins and carbohydrates. I added to my daily regime some recommended exercises to strengthen the chest muscles behind the breasts hoping this would give the larger breasts extra support. I waited and waited to see some miniscule growth or swelling, but aside from feeling energetic and noticing that my menstrual cramps had all but disappeared, my breasts remained exactly the same size. I continued to take the pills until the supply ran out, but at no time did my breasts become a millimeter larger, fuller or more plump than before, and I certainly didn’t need a larger bra.

Were the breast enlargement pills formulated with different herbs, plants, roots, leaves, berries and other ingredients than the ones now on the market in the United States? No. They contained the same well-known estrogen-rich dong quai, fenugreek, red clover, pueraria mirifica, kelp, fennel, blessed thistle, wild yam, saw palmetto, dandelion, watercress, royal jelly, ginseng, vitamins and minerals that the top natural breast enhancement manufactures are promoting today.

Do the pills work for some women and not for others? I don’t know. I only tell my story and let you decide if the craze over breast enlargement pills is real or a hoax.
